ingredients

  • 2-3 tablespoons of hummus. (Why not have a go at making your own hummus – it’s easier than you think! Whizz up 1 can chickpeas, 4 tablespoons olive oil, 1 garlic glove, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, 2 tablespoons tahini and 2 teaspoons paprika in a food processor. That’s it!)
  • 1 orange pepper
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 yellow pepper
  • 2-3 black olives

 

method

  • Place the hummus in the centre of a large round plate and spread into a circle using the back of a spoon.

  • Slice the black olives into two small circles for the lion’s eyes, a larger circle for the nose and two small strips for the mouth. Arrange the olive shapes onto your hummus face.

  • Cut strips of red, orange and yellow peppers and arrange around the outside of your hummus to resemble a lion’s mane.
